If you ever feel the need for a more sportier look or more orange then an MG ZR spoiler is a perfect addition to the BRM.

The mk2 version of the spoiler comes in one piece with a clear rear brake light and can be colour coded to match the car easily enough, I opted for colour coding mine Brooklands Green and BRM Orange to give a contrast to the front of the car.

Fitting one is an easy job, although it is easier to have 2 people just to help with lifting the spoilers on and off the car.

Firstly remove the plastic trim from the inside of the boot hatch, I found it easier to undo the lugs that the parcel shelf hangs from first. It is then a case of gently prising the top piece of plastic from the hatch as it is held on by multiple metal clips which are hidden. A flat piece of metal is handy to gently prise the plastic off.

The spoiler is held on by 4 bolts under the plastic trim, the holes can be seen in the lip spoiler in the following pictures.

The final picture also shows the brake light cable which needs unclipping before the lip spoiler can be removed. I had to replace the cable ends with some universal connectors as they were different between the ZR and the BRM, however this is an easy process.

Once the old spoiler is off the new one simply slots into its place (there are locating lugs to aid this) and the four bolts are retightened.

Here is the finished result on my car.

I hadn't noticed before not that the spoiler wasn't all orange. Look even better than I thought it would.

Cheers mate. Cost a wee bit extra to get the two colours on it but provided a much better effect than a solid colour all over.

Spoiler cost me £80 second hand and the painting was free because I know people ;) Well worth every penny though in my opinion!

Bought this spoiler (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rover-200-25-Spoiler_W0QQitemZ330158029463QQihZ014QQcategoryZ72 209QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) on sunday night and it was delivered on tuesday as described (super fast!!)!! when it is painted I will fit it myself! how easy was it to get the plastic trim off? And can you remember where the clips are located? i dont want to crack the plastic or snap anything! :S

Mine was different to that style. I bought the later mk2 spoiler that is all in one with the standard lip and has the central fin to stabilise it at high speeds. I think those bolt onto the standard lip but i'm unsure of the process i'm afraid. Sorry :(

I know, The reason why i got this one was because it was cheaper to spray just one colour than to two tone a mk 2 spoiler!

I know how it fits to the current lip, you are right - it does just bolt on. but I need to take off the current lip to fit the extension, then reattach to the car.

i am unsure about this part:
Firstly remove the plastic trim from the inside of the boot hatch, I found it easier to undo the lugs that the parcel shelf hangs from first. It is then a case of gently prising the top piece of plastic from the hatch as it is held on by multiple metal clips which are hidden. A flat piece of metal is handy to gently prise the plastic off.

how easy is the top peice of plastic, and can you remember where the metal clips are? i dont want to snap it you see!

Cheers

Aah, i see. Sorry misunderstood you there :slap:

There are around 10 metal clips under the plastic part. I found it to be a case of just gently prising it off a clip at a time, its guesswork really as to their positioning as they are all over it (for once Rover went into overkill). If you take your time and do it gently then you should be ok.
