Anyone ever heard anything about this brand of shocks, would these be a standard replacement for a BRM or would they be any better or perhaps even worse?

monroe is a very good brand in making replaceble dampers for cars like a vectra, or a focus
but I wouldn't mess up the standard brm dampers with monroe ones

besides, vi and brm have different setup as standard, so why them buy a kit that is also for a vi? it couldd be that you're 2 cm higher

As I thought then, but are very cheap though for anyone with a VI as buy it now is £30!

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the height of the springs set the ride height more than the damper?

Correct mate hence the term lowering springs.

Springs do effect the ride height, but damper rates may be different between BRM and the VI.

I've got 2 sets of BRM suspension sitting at home if anyone wants them?
