Thought i'd mention this to anyone that cares

If you type in "Rover BRM forum" to Google, then we are currently appearing above the OMC in the listings, I was quite pleased to find this today! Second only to MG-Rover.org, but that sites a monster so I'm not overly bothered by that.

Still being crucified in the listings for just searching "Rover BRM" but its quite hard to move up that listing.

Anyhoo, that's my news for the day :icecream:

I may regret asking this, but why are there 2 different forums devoted to such a rare car?

Feel free to ask away, but the story goes....

The Owen Motoring Club run the owners club for the BRM because they own the rights to the BRM name. Many moons ago they only ever used to provide a monthly newsletter which had a couple of pages devoted to the BRM, mostly extracts from the BRM book as the club is largely centred around rallying, etc.

A chap called Richard decided to set up an unofficial forum to promote the BRM, www.roverbrm.co.uk, but it all went pete tong when he disappeared off the face of the earth after buying a smart car when he sold his BRM. The site fee's were never paid and it disappeared.

I then decided to set up this site to give the BRM some web presence, however at about the same time the OMC decided to launch their own site (having never shown any interest before) and launched roverbrm.org. This site came online about a month after .org, but most of the old members of .co.uk came over to this one and it grew and grew.

.org continued but never had as much popularity as this site (partly because I "poached" members and was the only person to set up meets, etc). Since speaking to various OMC members and David Owen himself they actually have no interest in .org and are "letting it run dormant" so eventually it will cease to exist. I'm still in discussions with Mr Owen about using the BRM name officially, but its takling some time to set up.

That's about the story so far :D
