I am proud to announce the new sponsor of theBRM.co.uk, TDR Motorsport

With a background of over 30 years engineering experience starting with TDR Restorations working on classic motorcycles, the likes of Triumph's, Norton's and BSA's, they have diversified into the automotive sector specialising in MG-Rover.

Whether you have an MG-A or a Rover 200 BRM LE, TDR Motorsports are happy to offer services to cater for all.

As an introductory offer, TDR Motorsports are now offering a K-series head porting service. This involves a full port, including tapering of valve guides for £500 (new guides and valve seat cutting are at extra cost).

If you have any queries or questions then please don't hesitate to call now on 01474 854754 and ask for Peter.

what difference will it make to the engine and performance bud?

Well the biggest restriction on the VVC engine is the head. By fully porting it, tapering valve guides, removing valve bosses, knife edging port dividers, lapping valve seats, fettling the combustion bowl, opening waterways, etc you can realise the full potential that this head can offer.

With the K-series you can't put an exact bhp figure on what porting the head will provide (anyone that does is merely trying to sell their product by 'claiming' its better than the competition) as all of the work is carried out by hand/eye. What porting the head does do is increase and improve flow and with improved flow comes increased bhp as a by-product.

So to answer your question in a round about way it will improve the way the engine runs (a recent test in the MG owners magazine showed that a ported head actually helped fuel economy as well) and increase performance. Also gives the best start for future modifications to the engine.
