Peugeot 206 Can anyone help?

My son is having difficulty trying to locate the engine number on Peugeot 206, the only number he has found is 9634005110 and he doesn't know if this is just a casting number. We've looked at peugeot owners club but it does'nt look very active, any help would be much appreciated:flowers:

I think the engine number will be in the service book at the front, but I think that they go off part of the vin number. If all else fails speak to your local dealers service department they should be able to help.

Thanks for that Richard, I've been told that the number will be under the exhaust manifold! So it looks like a mirror and torch job.
