Finally finished the front end today, all went fine, had to buy some bolts from another workshop as the MG-Rover distributer didn't stock them :slap: as yet again one of the wing to bumper plates sheared off (bloody awful rusty corroded rubbish).

But she's all done, only minor injuries to myself from pointy mesh but I'm sooooooo happy with the results! :trampoline: :trampoline:

I see that your car has a BRM badge in place of the Rover badge on the front grill. I think that looks good. Did you use one of the BRM badges from the side of the car, or did you build some kind of customized badge yourself ?

The bagdes are laminate stickers that go over the rover badges front and rear. If you fancy a set pm me your address and i can send you some out. :D

Yep, the splitter is a Seat Leon Cupra R mk1 jobby. Need a bit of trimming at the ends but goes on really easily!

There's a guide in the modification section :D

The pics were on the driveway :slap:

House is in a village, but its quite busy round my way. Our road regularly has about 12 cars on it which it wasn't designed for.

Its simply a Halfrauds job mate. I believe its called Ripspeed Competition mesh and its pretty much the closest you'll get to the original top mesh.

My bumper is coming off on Sat morning, splitter is getting fitted. I may as well stick in some mesh while i'm at it - Adam how is the mesh held in place once cut to fit?

Makes the machine look nice n mean.

Yep, that's it matey.

The orginal lower mesh is a rectangular shaped section that is held in with metal clips that "bite" into lugs on the bumper. Be careful when removing these and dont chew up the lugs too much.

Slot the new mesh over the lugs, with a bit of jiggery pokery you can just about find the right position to fit the mesh over the lugs so they pop through a complete hole in the mesh.

The mesh is far larger than the hole, so this is the painful bit. Get a good pair of wire cutters and start chopping each strand of the mesh, I left enough for an overlap of about an inch or two. I then bent the mesh over the edge of the hole for a snug fit.

Then just replace the metal clips that held the original mesh in place.

Tada, sounds harder than it actually is though :D

The lip spoiler is from a Seat Leon Cupra R. Any Seat dealership should be able to sell you one. Over here it costs about £20, not sure of the price in Holland but I hope that helps.

Adam

You have to trim the tabs from the top of the spoiler and trim the edges down or theyt will foul on the wheels as the Seat bumper is deeper than the BRM bumper. Apart from that some self tapping screws will hold it on just fine!

See here for some more info...
