Hi folks,
My high-level brake light has a couple of bulbs out. :noexpression:
I've removed it from the spoiler (as far as the wire will allow) to have a look, but can't see an easy way to get inside the thing??
Is it possible to get inside the unit and replace individual bulbs, or is it a sealed (throw away?) unit?
Throw away unit as far as I know.
It will come off completely but you have to unclip it where the spoiler joins the bootlid, there should be a connector there. Beware though, replacing it with a unit from a ZR or such isn't straightforward as they screw in from above while the OE unit screws in from inside the spoiler.

On the back of the light are some small black philips screws which hold the light together. Just remove them and the bulb holder will come away from the lense. It just uses standard 501 capless bulbs.

Thanks chaps, I will venture out in the cold to investigate further!! :)
Also, thanks for the tip re. the ZR unit Adam! I was tempted to buy one of these the other day off of eBay, on the off-chance it would fit! Now I'm glad I didn't!
Honestly didn't know you could take them apart. Suppose that's one bit I haven't had to yet :mml:

Job done! Replaced all six bulbs, just to be sure! I decide to use 5w instead of the original 3w bulbs - makes that high-level light just a little bit brighter!
