Hi Folks,

I need the above plus connector plus a few inches of the connector wire to attach to where mine sheared off as I was trying to remove it Grrrrrr.

This is the one that feeds the temp gauge with the blue connector (not the brown one).

Anyone help? Drop me a PM please

Thanks,
Nick

If it was me, I'd get a new sensor from an Xpart dealer (rimmer brothers), e-bay or other motor factor rather than risk second hand.

Part number for the blue connector seems to be YCB100420 - from the web pages below it seems the part is common across all K series engines.

It sounds silly but I would probably go to a scrapyard for a connector and wire though.

Hope this helps.

Yep, same as Gary says. I replaced both mine (blue and brown) last year, and if I remember correctly, they were £14 ish each from Rimmer bros, + postage of a few £. Your local Rover/MG dealer (if still around) should have them for a similar price.

Don't overtighten and , ahem, partially snap* one of them though, and then find yourself ordering another! Doh! :):)

* You know that feeling when you've done wrong!

Been there, done that.:)

Will probably do it again, too.:chair:

Nick - I didn't ask earlier - why were you removing the sender?

Hi Gary,
The current to the gauge was intermittent so I wanted to take the connector off to clean it. The wire must have been barely attached as it sheared off really easily - and right at the point it connects to the connector.
That's why I want a 2nd hand one - so I can have a bit of wire with it to splice!
Thought I'd replace the sensor at the same time just in case.

I should also have asked, if you buy a new connector, how do you attach it to the single wire? They're closed units...
