Does anyone know where I can get hold of a coilpack? Ive rung Rimmer Bros and my local Rover dealer and they bolth said they are back ordered and they can't get hold of them! are the S1 Lotus Elise VVC coilpacks the same? not tried any Lotus dealers yet

Try Partco or Unipart Automotive as they are now known, they had one for my wifes 214i, being Rovers former parts operation most of the bits came from the same suppliers

If not try other motor factors, bound to be cheaper than Rimmer bros, failing that there is always Ebay

Hope this helps

i would imagine the s1 lotus elise vvc coil pack would do the job fine. as it uses the same k series set up..dont quote me on this though!

Yeh exactly like that!

Didnt want to get one from there cause there based in belgium, and if it did turn out they couldn't get one after i'd paid, it would be a pain to get money back

My only concern with the Lotus one is the connection to the ECU, I would imagine there the same though

I take it that our David has 'broken' a BRM.

There's always going to be a little bit of interesting differences between enthusiasts who wish for certain models to be preserved and maintained in usable condition and those who choose to break cars which could be improved to a roadworthy condition.

On the other side of the coin - the same enthusiasts do sometimes need to buy good second hand parts to keep their own pride and joy 'on the road'.

Funny old world, isn't it?

Just to let you all know, that the S1 Elise coilpack fits perfectly!

The problem I had before I replaced it was a missfire ever so often and a purge in the Revs when on Idle, and it seens to have cured it
