Hi,

Will the MG TF 160/Trophy AP calipers and discs fit on my BRM?

Im sure i have seen pictures before but cant remember where

The discs will have different hole positions for the wheel studs as the MGF wheels are a different PCD to 200/400/ZR/ZS and I think the fixing points for the calipers are different and they aren't a straight swap for the original calipers.

Sorry to break the bad news . . . but I like the way you think!

What is the measurment on a standard caliper of the hole centres on the mounting bolts?

Does anyone know?

Id like to order everything now so that i can have a weekend fitting everything to my BRM

It's an interesting read.

It might be easier and just as effective to get the 282 setup of a ZR160 / ZS180

From the look of things after a bit of reading, it seems the money spent on the AP set up from a TF 160 and adaptors / additional bits and pieces a 'big brake' conversion from the likes of Wilwood could be done . . . . but if the AP calipers are already in his possession . . . . . ?

I already have some AP's and some wilwood universal bells and discs so its just a case of machining some brackets

I had wilwoods on my 220 coupe

I like the sound of things to come from Mr. brm_turbo.

Do you still have the coupe or does the BRM replace it? I've always fancied a VVC coupe - nice ones seem to be getting rarer too.

I had a turbo coupe so thats the way the BRM will go

From experience the BRM is a much better car all round. I had a turbo coupe before and it was only a bit faster in a straight line but nowhere near as good on the bends, I much prefer the BRM.

I will be building the BRM for twisty bend combat only

Its only a trackday/weekend toy

I just want to upgrade the braking system before the project starts

Maybe T-series isnt the best option then.
It weighs a tonne and will almost certainly impede the handling (probably as bad as your coupe)

Have you thought about putting solid cams in the K-series?

Ever thought about NOS? A 50 shot of NOS will push the standard bhp upto 1just shy of 200bhp. Might need to do the usual breathing mods, but I see 200bhp attainable for relatively low costs.
