Options are ZR shocks and 35mm lowering springs - Total drop of about 55-60mm from standard Rover shocks, not sure how much lower the BRM is than standard.
Any lower than that and coilovers will be needed
Springs can be bought for the BRM shocks, but I would recommend going the ZR route.
This is my old R25, lowered on ZR shocks + 35mm springs with 205/40/R17 tires on, so will look about the same on the standard 205/55/R16s

I'm considering lowering mine a little bit, but I'm worried I'll look even more like a boy racer than I already do :P ... got some funny looks from the Police today ;)
Coilovers! :D
On a side note I used the ZR Avo lowering springs with the standard struts for a wee bit. Don't do this, the ride and road manners were god-awful. I presonally hate Avo lowering springs now.

Here, here quite agree.
Depends on what you want to spend you can get springs from the following -
G-max
Spax
Avo
Eibach
PI
Koni
Janspeed
And many others - prices range from £90.00 to around £130 and yes you do get what you pay for - Eibach being the most expensive and progressivly wound and tested on car.
I will be going Eibach or Koni for mine in the next few weeks.
Also if on ZR suspension, remember to go for the ZR springs as the dampers are valved (internally) dfferent to the Rover equivilents.
