Well another track day done in the car. No mechanical issues although an 'off' caused a smashed alloy resulting in running on 2 different types of alloys.

The car was faultless again and although the trackday was like a japanese car fest with massive horsepower skylines and 350Z's and although they left the BRM on the straights the BRM was much quicker through the corners and was overtaking them on every lap (which caused some strange looks from the Skyline crowd).

Only problem being they are still extremely reluctant to let a Rover past which can be really annoying.

Can't wait for the next one now.

What would you say the most important things to look at for a track day?

Tyres?
Brakes?

Suspension?

Everything?

Everything really mate you only have to look at the Caterhams, the BRM keeps with them on a straight but as soon as you get to a corner they leave you for dead. They don't roll through the corners plus their brakes are more effective because they are lighter.

Are you thinking of doing one? You will be amazed (as are other people) how good the BRM is on the track

Glad it all went well. I can't wait for my next one, only a week away now!

You're right about those pesky Caterhams though, they're crazy on track, not much can compare to them really.

The next one I am doing is Sunday 18th October 2009. Need to get some new alloys first as my brother smashed one on the last trackday.

If anyone has any 17" alloys for sale please let me know.

Just to inform people, a mate of mine is an instructor at anglesey circuit. She rekons you can join the 'Circuit Club' for a nominal fee (£10-£20) and then you get invited to track meets throughout the year for about £30 for an evening, with food and stuff afterwards... people take all sorts round, i've seen pics of a VW transporter going round!!

but best of all your unlikely to suffer the anti-Rover predjudice you refer to at an event like that...
