as some of you maybe aware ive just had a fully reconditioned head on the old girl..one thing ive noticed though is she dosent seem to have as much kick as she used to , the vvc always used to be really noticable before but now dosent seem so apparent...she revs fine to the limit (not that ive been driving her hard as shes bedding inn) so i know the HCU solendoids are connected properly and the head was built at the engineering company who supplied the head so it should have the vvc timed properly, could it be due to the thicker steel gasket altering the compression?? one other thing is that is it a rule of thumb to be able to turn the cambelt through 90 degrees on the longest stretch...:beer2:

Cambelt about 90deg, yes.

As for the lack of 'oomph', it could be due to the timing being retarded by one notch on the belt. There is a 'tolerance' of sorts when timing the vvc in that the pulleys do have play in them.

she seems to have come back to life...was having a fiddle under the bonnet last night just checking that i had conected all the sensor connectors together correclty and i noticed that the cam position sensor plug was a tad loose , had a fiddle and either its Coincidence or that was the problem as i can now feel the kick of the vvc under acceleration!!! yay!!!!!!!!
