the maxogen is the best one but properly expensive - i'd go with the Pipercross Viper Kit, still very good and half the price of the ITG.

I have a BMC CDA on mine, and its superb.
Would recommend one over a Viper any day.

As above, the ITG Maxogen is the best, but more than twice as expensive as the BDA's or Vipers.

Is the K&N not worth it then?

k&n makes a lot of boyracer crap sound, but comes with powerloss. and costs almost as much as a viper

viper is good and gives some horses, but no extra sound
maxogen is best and gives more horses and a little extra sound

price difference between viper and maxogen is not small but in my opinion worth saving for.

Drilled air box?

remove passenger headlight, get a piece of dishwasher pipe and put a piece of cotton gauze over the throttle body....:shutup:

TBH the Viper is good but has a v different sound to the open cone filters.

IF you can get a proper heat shield made up then go open cone, if not go closed, but the sound will be totally different.

I looked at the BMC, theres a 2nd hand one on ebay but I thought they didnt make much different to the sound, it was mainly the cone ones that did that, please correct me if im wrong

Nope standard car mate, just the BMC.

I picked it up for a bargain price of £50 posted, but it seems the going price is around £80 posted

Second hand mate sorry mate I didnt specify they are about £150+ new.
Just make sure you get the CDA 85-150 version, as they have different sizes for engine capacities (small engines, v6's & turbos etc)

No worries, its now in the right section ;)

For my tuppence, I've got a PiperX Viper and 52mm TB, coupled with the complete Janspeed system and sports cat it does the job rather well.

Out of interest what event are you attending at Brands?
