A rough estimate on a completely standard car is that you'll see at least 160-165bhp.

bit much for an extra 15 to 20 bhp

People get so hung up on figures, but in real terms they mean nothing. Its about the vast improvement in power delivery and driveability, plus this would be the first step on the route to converting to solid cams for even more power.

I'm actually being realistic with these figures and not quoting utter rubbish which most people do when offering performance modifications.

Unfortuantely tuning the k-series isn't cheap, you can't just 'bolt on a turbo' or 'get a remap', it doesn't work like that. This modification isn't just 'whacking' on a set of throttle bodies, as that simply wouldn't work properly, we are modifying them to fit correctly in the 'bubble' chassis, along with the airbox to give the optimum performance from the set-up. Don't forget as well this price includes the fitting of, wirring in and remapping of an Emerald ecu. This means after the Emerald is in and wired up, your car is put onto a trailer and taken up North to Emerald's HQ where it has an extensive mapping session (usually about 4-5 hours) to get the most from the new modifications.

As for what can be done afterwards, the next steps would be having the head ported and then a conversion to more aggressive solid cams with the removal of the vvc. Then onto internal work, pistons, rods, etc. Plenty of options it just depends how far you wish to go with your engine.

Just out of interest, how many BRMs have had this done? and what sort of value would it add to the car. I'm presuming you'd only get it done on an immaculate example. James

Our track car had this but went a lot further and the only other BRM I know on ITB's will be my road car when I eventually buy all the bits, no other road BRM's have ITB's that I know of although we've done a few ZR's.

As for adding value, it wont really if you're looking at resale. I'm doing it to mine purely because the noise is just amazing and will give a bit more power.

:sly: Well if there's no added value, let me know when you want to sell it

Short question on this one, but isn't the water takeoff (with the bleeding/jiggle valve) missing on the DTHTB's?

Yep, it's not there, you have to drill and tap the bodies and fit it yourself. Not an easy job as it's at an awkward angle.
