meer i have a problem with my car it keeps drinking a bit of water and smells heavyly of coolent when outside the car just hopeing its the rad as it looks a bit beat oil level is still same and runs good still fingers crossed its not the headgasket lol any sugestions guys?
Hmm, park on a dry space and leave it overnight, check for puddles, etc in the morning. Have a quick check around for any leaks.
Does the oil have any bubbles in it? Is there any mayonnaise looking stuff in the coolant/oil?

As Adam says just look out for drops of oil in the expansion tank and mayo on the lid, they are a sign of HGF.

a more technical test than looking for puddles in the morning would be to get the cooling system presure tested to check for leaks......

Make sure when you get her rebuilt put in the new landrover gasket and oil rail set, think rimmerbros.co.uk should be able to supply it.

As this gasket is thicker wont it increase compression?
Can you not use the race/Klinger gasket - Brown and gammons www.ukmgparts.com
Similar thickness but wont inc/decrease compression
You could use the race gasket, I've not had any experience with it though. The landrover one is ok, its been fitted to many k-series engines now with no noticeable loss in performance.
