Imitation one of the best forms of flattery.. personally i agree with Shaggy.
Match it with the side strips for a better look IMO.
I assume it's either a VI or a 214 IS?

Interesting thought pattern that.. the BRM IS essentally a R200 with a few choice 'external' tweaks.. don't deny the DNA..
And why would it be quicker than a std BRM? if it's a Vi they are identical.

For some reason all the guides do quote something like a 0.4sec better 0-60 times for the vi - but we all know what figures on paper are worth.
I'll have to agree with the majority and say lose the orange, it clashes with the blue - make it all silver and it may not look so disjointed.

As you pushed me into a corner I'm not saying I hate it, It's not a BRM and therefore should not have the nose and to have it blue as well adds insult to injury.
I'm with Black_Sunrise on this one and as for Spankyban saying "the BRM IS essentally a R200 with a few choice 'external' tweaks.. don't deny the DNA" I feel he is way off the mark, It's not just the external tweaks but the whole package that make the BRM special.

Correct it isnt external tweaks, however the focus on this car has been the external tweaks..:)
from what the original poster was saying is what they are trying to avoid 'it still looks better than an R200'
When essentially EXTERNALLY there is very few differences between the BRM and and a norm R200 do you not think?

Must admit im not a fan of the replicas, was drivin close to home last week and thought id spotted a BRM, went for a closer look and relised it had a diesel downpipe, However it was Brooklands Green and it had the full interior, but still an insult to the BRM name.

Bit harsh to say 'insult'. Perhaps more of a shame that a genuine BRM has had its insides ripped out to furnish it. Even this is better than committing BRM parts to the scrapyard to rot.
I pretty much agree that silver mouth to match the side rubbing strips would look 'right'. I wouldn't reccommend a de-tango for a BRM, but on a Vi - do it.
As for the BRM / Vi issue. It's the suspension tweeks, LSD and the way the car handles that make the BRM what it is . . . . and it's the gear ratios that make it slower to 60 apparently . . . . . . but only slower in a straight line :)

For the oil on the drive put some cat litter down then scrub with a broom should get it all up.

I dunno! it's block paving! I had oil on our block paved drive (after ATS didn't tighten the oil filter properley on my Xsara :slap:) and God himself couldn't shift the stain!

Take your lights off the car. Gently using a hairdryer heat up the sealed edge between the clear plastic lens section and the black backing, they will eventually seperate. Once apart pop out the orange lens from the indicator. Then using some clear sealant, stick them back together.
Usually ends up in burnt thumbs though and don't forget to use orange flashing bulbs rather than clear ones.

Nope, mine were pretty frazzled by the end of it.
I also sprayed the silver parts on the lens backing to make them darker, looked quite good when done...

Wheres a good place to get sealant from, Halfords?

Homebase or B&Q, just make sure its the clear sealant.

how much do you think i would get for this car about?
new engine that has done 44.000 although no proof apart from its clean and runs perfect,
not the best condition but good for 10 years old. like a few rust spots, only really front wheels arches and 3 inches just under drivers door,
thx:)
