As you might have read in a previous thread i'd decided to make some custom badges.
I modelled them up first to get a rough idea

Then after getting some cutters in, and writing a program, i managed to get the first off done the other night. It'll need a little editing yet to get a better surface finish but first look is pretty good IMO. (Not sure on my actual build no. as i havent checked it yet, just going on the previous owner saying it was 751)
What i started with

Any comments welcome.

Will give it a coat of clear lacquer probably. Would like to get it anodized but cost would be crazy!!

Managed to find some time to get some more work done on the badges, been so busy of late that i nearly forgot about them!!!
Anyway, after tidying the "machined" marks from the badge a little, it was time to but it from the block, this is where i had a slight fubar moment unfortunately, when the badge was finished cutting, it got stuck against the Wire on the EWC machine and got slightly damaged, but as its only the first off i can live with it. (Cant see it on pics well anyway)
Trial fitted the badge on the front grill

Think it'll look good once finally finished, but i have thought about applying some colour to it somehow???
Opinions??

Looks Awesome mate!
Living in Chaventry i would have to have it on my show grille as it would go missing round here..
Can it be electro plated..?

Thanks for the positive comments, i might be able to do a limited run of these but depends on what people would be willing to pay for a pair, or individual badges?

Yeah, they are only stuck on. I think you can take the grill off and push the badge from the back, cant remember though

Hey Shaggy - this looks brilliant. I'm definitlety up for this if you decide to go ahead. How about trying black lettering if poss - it will make it stand out more. Nice to see another silver snout - I thought mine was the only one!

To do Black lettering would be much more difficult.
I've been thinking, I could supply the badges in their "machined state then it could be up to the individual to customize it to how they wanted it????
Finished article will be posted soon, just need some sticky stuff so i can put them on!!

Maybe a small pot of black Humbrol enamel paint , a good quailty fine brush and a steady hand - would be the way I'd be temped to go.

Thats the thing, I dont have s steady hand and much patience!!!!
I might try another badge with Black lettering sometime. Maybe if i did the lettering engraved instead of raised it'd look good. Can then do the lettering coloured
