But I've spurned my chance at getting a PS3 off the wife for Xmas on the basis that'll by January it'll just be another expensive dust collector :(

I tried going on with a mate and it wouldn't connect us I'm "MAJOR-ACCIDENT" we were on World at War all the time so don't know why won't connect together in match but must say the game is excellent. My son brmnath is also on there as "MAJOR_INCIDENT"

Brmad as for not connecting to other friends games that would be either you or your friend haven't got the right ports configured on your router for the game. I had that problem with world at war but fixed it by putting the ps3 in a dmz

We were both playing online its just that we er how can I put this "play with each other" its different to World at War cos it invites through messaging now rather than the game itself. When we sent the invite it just came up with a message saying along the lines of "timed out" but we werent even in a match..

Yeah your be able to get online and play ok but when you try and join a specific game with someone it will just time out. Theres more about it on portforward.com. I think you only need to set this up for World at War, i think Modern WArfare 2 works without this setting.

And after all that it was a problem with the game as from Friday all is well thanks to a patch from Activision. All I need now is another copy of the game cos I cant get the nipper off the damn thing, yes weve got two Playstations but NEC visit using up my pocket money this week lol.
