We have a 'winner' - be smug :)

The little blob of copper grease inside the rubbery bit was like concrete - no wonder things weren't well in the braking department - the NS Rear caliper lower slide pin (upper seemed ok)was sticking and the pads have worn far quicker than the ones on the OS Rear. A bit of spring cleaning and the lightest smidge of lithium grease and all seems alright at the moment . . . . . but I can't rule out a caliper problem as it was a little more difficult than expected to wind back in . . . . . . . . so we'll have to keep an eye on it.

Good bit of info there Mark - I know that they do refurbished calipers - do they do the carriers as well?
