I have become without realising it a driving coward when the roads are icy/snow covered! So, my car has sat on the drive for weeks while I ponder on whether I need to go out. There was a time when I was positively excited at the prospect of driving in the snow and I am now gutted that I have become a scaredy cat, perhaps it's time I shuffled off and bought a 4x4 for these rural B roads:yikes:

It's not cowardice, it's the instinct to preserve a good car from the other bezecks on the road!
On this note I find the BRM rubbish in the snow, too light and too revvy!
Damn right - leave it on the drive if you don't have to use it.
I've been cycling everywhere for the last few months, most invigorating and exciting in this weather I can tell you.
But when I have driven, your little woolly hat has been doing an excellent job!:):)
Nooooooooo............don't buy a 4x4! Just use it as an excuse to stay in and not go to work
Last time I drove to work in the snow I practically killed the BRM, never doing that again.

I have to get to work very early in the morning and today was just a bit too much. Ended up in a bush before I even left the close and I've had advanced training from the RAF for this kind of thing!
A 10 minute journey took 40 and by the end of it I was behaving more like a snow plough than a BRM!
Got to do it all again tomorrow.
Oh Joy.

Since the snow came I've cycled to work rather than get any of my cars out.
I'm pretty good at driving in snowy/icy conditions, I just don't trust anyone else not to drive like a knob and come ploughing into me!
Cycling with my slick tyres on has been a bit "exciting" at times though....

its not the car its the driver!! i live in rural witlshire and we have had shed loads of snow , the brm has done just fiine in coping...hasnt got stuck once...its only "revy" as you put it dependant on how heavy your right foot is!!

for whatever reason its the worst i`ve ever driven in snow
had a long not too steep bank to get up and it struggled so bad
i was bricking it
it inched up and i knew if it stopped moving i was was going to go down like one of those red bull stunt planes doing a climb stall and turn
knew i was up the creek with no paddle when the bloke in the mobility scooter overtook me

Mine ok in the snow, but it does have some new Firestone boots on which I think help keep it grippy.
A steep hill that was on a corner and really slippy was a bit hairy but I quite liked it...like old rally games on the play station. :)

I have Firestone on my zs but its just too powerful through the front wheel drive for the snow.

Is that a ZS with the V6 and the fish gills on the wings? Mark likes them! :)

So does the snail - especially the black one parked next to the BRM outside the house of snail :D
Save up and buy one - they're damned good fun, but they kick you in the nuts every time you go to fill it up with petrol.
Honestly - I don't think there's a lot in it between the BRM and the ZS, both very chuckable, both quick. The ZS is more 'grown up' and definitely faster, but the BRM really isn't far behind. BRM feels more responsive and easier to handle.
. . . .now what did that have to do with 'driving coward'?:chair:
