Having bought my brm after owning a 216 se Coupe I decided to remove my Infinity front speakers complete with crossover and tweeters from the Coupe and fit them into my brm,as the Brm still had the standard speakers and a non working tweeter a bit of fiddling and i changed the tweeters I didnt bover with the crossover units as I presumed Rover had done something along the way in the wiring system next I went to fit the speakers, now I cant remember exact sizes here but the brm had smaller speakers which brought me to a halt,so I decided to try the larger speakers complete with the original coupe plastic surrounds,a stroke of luck they used the exact same 3 fixing holes and went straight in,my only concern now would the door cards fit back on,the awnser yes just.
I dont know if this is a well known fact but if you want to fit bigger speakers to the front, nick em from a Tomcat Coupe.

Probably the more secure way Matty but for those who dont want to drill the doors its an alternative, although i probably used about every available hole around the speakers and lots of self tappers to may sure they were secure in the plastic surrounds and from what i have read smaller speakers can give better voice reproduction...who knows anyway always nice to get rid of the cheap originals

You will not be getting much from them, Rover would have put a small signal capacitor on the back of the original mid speaker to act as the Xover. A Xover is basically a traffic warden directing signals of a certain frequency to those speakers that can handle it best.
I created MDF spacer rings that i bonded to the door skin of the BRM, then drilled the speakers to the spacers, you can buy them from autoleads or select products iirc.

You got it mate.. simple as that. You can mount the Xovers in the door or on the inside of the car, behind the carpet both sides of each footwell.
