yeah, the dash pocket is easy peasy. two screws hold in the blanking plate behind the glove box, undo these and hey presto, the plate can be removed and the pocket just slots in its place with no fuss whatsoever.

Dead easy Alan - two 8mm bolts to take the glovebox off and then the blanking plate is just fixed with two more (can't remember if it's bolts or screws) the dash pocket is a straight swap for the blanking plate using the same fixings.

well, strobefox from .org delivered my zr spoiler last night in silver and i was up at 7 fitting it.
to be honest i really like it but only from certain angles. its alot of silver to contend with but i think, like the interior, it will grow on me.
it makes the rear alloys look smaller than they are (dont ask me why) so hopefully when the straights have been attached it should finish it off nicely.
overall im happy with the look and i know its create a split with you guys.

thats what i was thinking you see. pretty much everyone goes for the orange, and ive decided that the whole reason the snout is orange is to pay homage to the cars that had the orange snout back in the le mans days.
silver is to compliment the rest of the trim. even the missus was like "dont like it", after being out and about in it today, she has now changed her mind and actually thinks it looks good.

Simply Si
03-25-2010, 08:20 AM
cheers gaz, yeah it is staying as is. pretty much the reason it is staying as is, is because of the 'sheep' thing. my mate wants his orange and green and i dont want to be rolling around with him in an identical car.
nope, the silver stays.
Shaggy
03-25-2010, 09:32 AM
IMO buying a BRM is basically rolling around in the same car. They are not exactly inconspicous, and drastic changes mean it takes it away from being a BRM.
If you dont want to roll around the same as others why not buy a Vi?? And mod to suit??
Not a dig etc so dont read it like it is.
IMO the silver spoiler just doesnt suit, its just too much. What would look good, is the ZR spoiler green with the "Xpower, Motobuild" add on spoiler in silver. Now that might look schweet as its just less silver
The current amount of silver just doesnt compliment the rest when looked at from a whole car perspective. It'd be fine if the snout was silver though (which is just wrong).
All IMO though so you can tell me to shutup if ya like

Shaggy I have to admit I fall firmly in your camp - the BRM is what it is, not a 'sheeps' car by any stretch of the imagination.

03-25-2010, 10:10 AM
SI: it's your car and nobody can tell you what to do with it, if you like this then that's how it's going to be!
But: hope you don't mind butchering up your pics with some bad photoshopping to see what it would like partially silver, just out of curiosity:

03-25-2010, 10:24 AM
when i say sheep i dont want my brm to look like everyone elses in respect to the colours i have various bits. the spoiler makes a statement about me in that A: i love silver and the more the better B: I dont want the 'traditional green/orange' combo on the spoiler as my mate is having his like it and i dont want to look the same.
i welcome all opinions and im not the kind of guy to go all minstrel just because someone dont like it. i bought the BRM because i love its heritage, its uniqueness and its rareity, mine is now a little more unique than the others! lol

Shaggy
03-25-2010, 01:53 PM
It is all down to personal preference.
I personally bought my car because of its looks, interior etc etc. I've added the orange spoiler because it looks great, who cares if others have the same, it doesnt make me a sheep because i like it.
Fair play for doing something different but i think the only way to pull the silver look off is the do the snout silver too.
I'll shutup now
