Faded carpets help

hi,

after hoovering emma today i noticed that through age and wear and tear the carpets are abit faded and i would like to get them kind of to there original colour.

has anyone got any tips on how to get them back to a good deep red again?

i was thinking maybe fill a spray bottle with red dye and then spray the effected areas and leave to dry naturally?

Dont know the awnser to this one but have tried a red clothes dye the sort that you put in your washing machine...I may of watered it down to much because it didnt make a lot of difference.

I found another carpet which is waiting to go in later this year because i had a very nasty tear which split in three different directions and is held together with glue now.

I also had the back seat out while running some wires and boy what a difference in colour when you reveal the carpet under it
