loud groaning from brakes

well, after a shopping trip to maidstone today, it started to occur to me that the rainfall around our locale was very substantial.

the roads were heavily flooded and upon return we noticed whilst i was breaking, we heard a really loud vibrating groaning noise.

i drove abit with the brakes pressed very gently and it seemed to dissapear. has anyone else experienced this with wet weather or is it something i should investigate?

Could be the water has got into the slide pins on the calipers and isn't letting the pads come away from the discs - I had similar symptons in dry weather wth a sticking slide pin, might be worth taking the pins out of the calipers, checking for rust, cleaning, greasing and making sure the rubber boots are okay.
