View Full Version : Battery Drainage
Hi, Does anyone else have the same problem? My battery seems to drain power at an astonishing rate. I have to change it at about every 6 months. I only use my BRM for about 20 miles a day - could it be lack of mileage or something draining the power?
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Do you change it or charge it every 6 months?
Have you had the alternator and the battery (assuming you don't change it for a new one every 6 months) tested?
Are you doing 20miles in the dark everyday? if you're alternator/battery was slightly dodgy using the car for short tips with the lights/heater/radio/wipers all on as it's winter could be putting a slow drain on the battery

I do just under 5 miles too then from work each day and odd runs some weekends.Got to say even through the winter with everything on i have had no problems in the battery department,so it sounds like there is a problem.

This has happened to me, even bought a new battery with no luck.
Cleaned all the connections and the earth cable and problem has seemed to have disappeared.
Hi All,
Thanks for the responses. Now take a different route to work which means I can give 'Betsy' a real belt up a dual carriageway - it seems to have solved the problem. Like others I have a problem with the sunroof - I suppose the best solution is to permanently seal it.
