Has anyone ever heard one of these - or used one?

I saw them, did a google but didn't hear much praise for ashley exhausts unfortunately :(
I know a couple of people with them on ZR's. They're ok by all accounts. I decided to go for all janspeed though, that way I know it all fits and is all the same bore size, etc.

ashley make some really good systems and manifolds. i only thought they did older cars otherwise i would have looked at getting one.

I'm looking into getting a replacement exhaust at the moment - Ashley exhausts don't come supplied with mounting brackets to fit onto OEM mounting points so you'd have a bit of extra expense getting the mounting points welded onto the backbox.
Upside is that the Ashley boxes seem to be a bit cheaper than some of the bigger name brands like Janspeed etc so I guess its six n half a dozen....

There good for older cars such as triumphs and mini's, however they arnt amazinly good for newer cars, such as the BRM
Jamspeed exhausts as already stated before, are good for current cars and racing/sports cars!
hope this helps you a little

the guy where I bought my janspeed prepared rally cars
his experience with janspeed was: very good
his experience with ashley was: not so good. they rust a lot faster then others , they always come with little problems so that they don't fit without any work, but they are not as expensive as janspeed and they give a good gain in bhp. he used them on new cars (206, clio, impreza's...) and on old cars (his speciality is opel manta, record and gt) so ignore what the youngster said ;)

that is one person, lots of other people would disagree, there are disadvantages to Ashley as well as there is advantages!
i think that was a bit blunt fredrick, i think maybe hinting would be better than going against everything i said eh?
but yeah, to the point, i would personnaly go for Janspeed, and Frekkel would rather go for Ashley, so bit different, but its entirely your choice, look and watch other people!

I think its time for some consumer testing...
If power is an issue, I've seen a BRM turbo with one fitted - so if can cope with the power of a turbo, it should be able to cope with my N/A car.
As I see it,
good points are : made for BRM, price, sound (to be fair at this point i'm hopeful - due to their desciption about 'The perfect choice if your not the shy retiring type as Ashley are the loudest of our exhausts' - this sorts of says 'buy me - buy me' but perhaps I have never grown up ;-) )
bad points are : oem history not so good, not stainless (but you can have 2 of these for one janspeen or other), no one has tried one to be sure if they are any good or not.. they are made in birmingham (only joking)
So I have bought one - and I will let you all know. I'll take some photos - tell you how the fitting went - then I'll stick a video on youtube of the noise it makes at idle - and when i rev it like a big kid..
I'd love to know what the hp differences are between standard and the ashley - but my exhaust is knackered at the mo so wont be able to. I have a de-cat pipe coming too, again, just for the noise value.

yeah good, post the link when you have done it!
whilst you're there show your car off, get some good viewings and maybe some new members if they buy one! even put the site link on the end if you wish!
