Further to my thread in the 'wanted area'
Has anyone made any changes from the rover head units/cd changers used in the brm?
Main points of interest:
1, can the rover issue cassette head unit be unpgraded to run a changer unit?
2, Can an pioneer etc head unit interface with the dash display?
Be interested in what changes people have made, pitfalls, solutions etc....
what dash display?
The only integration I've got is the steering wheel controls into my Alpine head unit. Although I haven't fitted those wires yet...

1. yep, got one sitting in my bedroom collecting dust with my cd's still in it
2. I believe so providing you buy the correct adaptor, i honestly cant remember the part numbers at the moment.
I had the 6 disc cd changer but found it rather limited. Swapped it for a JVC KD AVX1 so that I could connect my Ipod. The display is now just the clock and I cant use the steering wheel controls, but I much prefer it to the standard unit.

Where can I get an adapter from? The display is annoying me showing just two dots.

Hi all. I had a failure of my starter motor recently and had to disconnect the battery. I now need the code to unlock the radio. Is it possible to get this from somewhere with just the VIN number of the car, or have I got to buy the radio removal keys as well so I can get the serial number of the radio?

You can buy radio codes off ebay, just type in Rover radio codes. Email your radio number and he'll email you back with the code. Costs about a fiver.
I have a Sony head unit in my BRM with a USB port, so I just download MP3's and play from a memory stick. CD's are surely dead?

Brm's came as standard with an R770 radio cassette which doesn't need upgraded it will run a philips RC026 6 disc autochanger
