Anyone had this problem???
My boot won't open either with the central locking or with the key, is this a common problem on the BRM/200 ? When I 'open' the car with the central locking you can hear the lock dis-engaging but it won't open..., they key won't turn in the lock either.... what do I do?

I guessing liberal doses of lubricating oil is the first thing then a couple of hours wait?
It usually happens the other way round, in that it wont shut. But as Mark said, squirt a liberal amount of wd40 into the lock and if you can get at it around the mechanism. Should free it up.

This happened to me the other day and the bonnet on the same day
Just cleaned them up and lubricated them well and they have been ok since. :D
Was a bugger to do at first because i had a boot load of stuff and lots of stuff on the back seat as i was helping move a few things. I had to get all that stuff out put the back seats down empty the boot remove the cover to the lock mechanisam to get it open to clean and re lub & it was at night. Was a right nightmare

the problem came back, boot would only relase every 10 or so time when unlocking the car with the keyfob...
after investigation it wasn't the central locking or the lock mechanism afterall...
I removed the plastic trim on the boot lid and in simple terms it was a little black plastic clip stopping the openning operation, which to 5 seconds to sort...
Just thought i'd update this thread incase wanyone else has the same problem, as it could cost an hours labour at a garage if it was a suspected electrical fault (or not in this case/..)
