PVS @ Santa Pod

just wondering has any one ever been down Santa Pod or ever do a proper 1/4 mile.

just to let you know i got a: 16.0969 @ 87.71 with just a crappy induction kit, blowing exhaust, and i don't think its running its true brake (down on power) but not to sure about that :P

so if any one has been down in a rover 200 brm before please enlighten me

I have talked about doing a similar thing here in Holland and a few people who are regulars really recommended me not doing it.
As everything is standard on the car there is a good chance that something will break as it's not really designed to do the quarter mile on a regular base. (I wouldn't worry too much about a single run). One thing is sure: it will get a lot of abuse!
All the cars that regularly participate in such a thing do usually have an uprated clutch to start with.....and then the rest.

Kudos for giving it a go though. Did you remove the spare wheel to shed some unneccesary weight?

Im with Adam, i dont think the car is fast enough to enjoy driving it in a straight line. But im interested in hearing if anyone else has taken their BRM's to tracks, and even though your not meant to, timed it?

lol well i went down 8 times with 33 degrees of blistering heat and it survived and yes every thing was out was even contemplating taking out the back seats but had no tools and to hot so cba lol. tbh i do like bends its just a real rush when your sat at the lights waiting for that special green one it just gets you hart pumping.

Seen R32 golfs pushing a lot more BHP doing 14.4,so I reckon thats sounding quite good

well my mate did 15.8** in a corsa b striped out to bare metal with a 2.0 8v 115bhp and my other mate got 15.6** in a honder civic 1.8 170bhp.

p.s. i did hear some one on the way out as i was driving past saying "that rovers quick"
so it must be a good time i hope lol
