What are peoples opinions on window tints, do you think they would impove the look of my BRM? You can get a full lazer cut set from Ricky Racing on ebay for under £60...

Thought about this long and hard myself.

Due to legalities you can only really have dark tints on the rears and rear window, but this gives the "van" effect imo. I suppose you can tint all round but there's the old bill problem to contend with....decisions decisions!!

I know what you are saying, but you can get dark smoked for the rear and light smoked for the front. this is technically still illigal, but it would have to be a very bored and picky copper to pull you for it!

What about when it gets dark and you cant see bugger all out of them? That's my old man side coming out!

never had a problem with that in my MINI. Light smoke at the front, limo black at the back.

To be fair the BRM windows are quite tinted as standard. I was going to do the rears in a light smoke to cut the glare out for my son, but it's not really needed.

Hmmm, I really want to tint my windows, but as far as i can tell from reading up about it, if your car did not come with tinted windows from the manfacturer any tint on the front or rear windiws is illegal. Not sure if it's true, but it's enought to put me off. Would look good though.

the law states you are allowed upto 20 or 25% i cant remember in the front side windows, and i think 80% in the rear window, and 100% in the rear sides

currently, you can tint the rears however you want... can't apply film to the fronts though (hence factory tints only).

£160 is cheap too! Paid £207 for 5 windows a few years ago
