Welcome! :)
I think for the idling problem you need a new 52mm alloy throttle body. Apparently the plastic ones can fail.
Check out some of the other threads, they talk more about this!
For the power stearing have you checked the belt? It could have snapped.
Im sure Adam or someone else will come on and give you a more techie response, i have only been around a few weeks myself!
Welcome to the site mate, enjoy your stay here!
The idle problem does sound like the throttle body, unfortunately the OE plastic one is prone to sticking when it warms up. A nice alloy replacement should cure this, they come in either 48mm (same size as standard) or 52mm (better throttle response but about twice the price). There is a 56mm but avoid this as back to back rolling road tests have shown it causes flat spots and a slight drop in power.
Power steering i'm not overly ofay with i'm afraid. check the levels are ok and the belts aren't worn for your first steps.
hth

HI ALL, Going check out a new throttle body...
Just for the record, I brought the dodgy angel eyed BRM with 126k off autotrader. Real Cheap, REALLY REALLY REALLY TIDY (I Was sooo shocked...)
Apart From...
Twin 3" Exhausts
Angel Eye Lights
Orange BRM neon on silver bumper
dodgy air filter and oil filter
aerosol painted MG ZR spoiler
and a few other bits and bobs
Led indicators!!!
Liverpool FC italic number plates???
Now, its having an orange front put back on,
standard lights on front aswell as taking neon off.
Repaint MG spoiler as its well suited..
Standard Plates
Tune Up & Polish...
Keeping the straights on as they are pristine with toyo tyres.
Car seems real sluggish until 4k, then it goes. could it be the ultra stupid loud exhaust and dodgy filters killing all the power???
These cars are better left alone, can't wait have the front painted again...
(Just for record, car has only a couple of dents, and interior is well tidy! CHUFFED high milage, oh well!)

P.S, you won't offend me if your on about the bolt-ons!.
Somet not right with it?
Ah, i saw that one advertised!
Sounds like your heading the right direction with the mods your going to do. If its got an open cone filter tear it off and burn it now! Put back on the standard filter if anything as this could be the reason for your power problems.
Open cone = :guns:
Forgot to say if your keeping the straights and they have the MG centre caps, ditch them now! Or at least stick some good old Rover stickers on there :D

Sound Sound, need all the advice i can muster.
Just no advise on Lexus lights please...
Filter will go... Anybody wanna swap for a standard one? also twin stainless 2.5 or 3" oval, looks awesome (and I aint a fan of them gay twin zorsts) but toooo loud for me....swap for a standard exhaust...all you have to do is pay for mine to be taken off, and your tidy standard put on mine. I want no hassle!

The mileage put me off tbh, that and the fact that it had been for sale for sooo long!
I like the MG wheels so if you fancy swapping for some brm wheels, I could be more than accomodating! :)
if not, you can get the BRM center wheel caps from ebay. Only prob with them is they are £5 each!!!

I was joking mate, my wheels are a bit tatty if I am honest! The 70 year old woman who had the car before me seems to have had a problem with keeping the car in the road! :)
Cant find them again at the mo mate, but will keep lookin, and when I do will let you know!
