Who has done it?

What is the definitive parts list required?

Whats the cost?

:)

From what I have read, you steal the caliper, carriers, pads and discs off a ZR160 or ZS180 and simply swap them over - direct replacement for the 262mm set up - and it all fits behind the standard cosmos wheels.

E-bay gives you an idea of pricing

So the ZR 160 set up goes straight on?

Is it the 620ti set up that requires a modification but it's cheaper?

ZS / ZR items are a direct replacement (just to reiterate - all from reading of what others have done online - not done this myself . . . . and I'll be buggered if I'm swapping them from my ZS to my BRM just to find out :))

My understanding (lots of reading on websites over the years!) is that the pad carriers from a Ti need a bit of grinding to allow them to be fitted. I'm sure there's a photo or a 'how to' type guide on .org or possibly RT - not a big job apparently, but could be fiddly if you're cack-handed like me :).

The bonus element of the Ti setup is a greater variety of friction materials are available (ZS/ZR pads are a different shape and less plentiful when it comes to the more race oriented pads available from various manufacturers)

If you decide to look at the Ti setup, you can Also look at the Honda Legend Setup as well (had them on my old Ti)

Just out of Interest Mark why are you looking at the upgrade?

Sorry if this goes onto bore you (or i'm sure you are already aware) just because you have bigger brakes doesn't mean you will be stopping faster and you can loose pedal feel (which IMO is most important to me).

I suppose what i'm trying to say is a little spent on Braided hoses, new fluid and a caliper overhaul could be just what the doctor ordered.

I've already spent a little on braided hoses and new fluid etc and the improvement was only marginal - I now need to put in new slider pins and another set of new discs so I was just costing up the bigger brake set up incase it was going to be a reasonable cost option given that it's mostly 2nd hand parts.

Sounds like your doing the right thing then mate, bigger area bigger stopping power and all that - look at the Honda Legend Calipers if you can get them, 4 pots front 2 pots rear.

I know mullac on .org that I met at the North London meet had put the bigger discs on his 200 diesel and reckoned the difference/improvement was really good, but that was of course not a BRM,if youve driven a rover with drums on the rear then you do have something to complain about after 2 of them i find the BRM brakes quite good
