Laughs I started of getting the tube to the rear washer off then started removing the headling trim, then thought lets look at this sunroof and removed more, now most my interior trim is lying in the workshop with me thinking well carpets coming out might as well gut it all the sadess part is when looking under the carpet I seem to have even in this dry weather a swimming pool in the passenger footwell,so I thinks its all staying out till all these leaks are fixed.
So whats the spraying have you got some original interior paint or are things changing colour
I was just spraying the parts that aren't going to be covered. The leatherette that I used in certain areas had come off as this hot weather basically made the glue useless :slap:
I've had to rethink some areas of the trim and am going to use black self-adhesive felt instead, which will hopefully stick better! Fingers crossed!

looks like your spraying them in sparkle, did you actually spray some of the red ie side roof/pillar trims and if so what did you use
Yeah, those bits are sparkle silver. All the red is leatherette

Currently in the process of doing this myself
Going black suede effect with a few trick aluminium bits also!!
Had to make some extra bits to help secure to material in places but hopefully it'll look pukka when done.

It'll be a bit noisy doing 4 hours on the motorway with no head lining!

I think you should wear a full red leather cat suit and it'd look like no-one was driving!

I cant figure it out (As in i cant pull it out)??

Hehe, complete arse of a job to be honest!
Basically.....take the roof lining off. Retract the sunroof to it's fully 'back' position. Undo/loosen the bolts holding the complete sunroof assembly so that it can drop a few inches. I took the two rearmost sets of bolts out completely but left the front two sets in, just on a couple of threads (basically so the sunroof assembly is lowered but still roughly in position).
If you now look at the rear of the sunroof assembly runners, there are 2 white clips, just lift these off/unclip them.
Grab another person to give you a hand at this point.....the sunroof tray/cover thingy gets stopped by a bar running between the sunroof assembly runners situated above the tray and two 'tags' on the top of the tray. It is possible to push the bar up just enough to get the 'tags' underneath it, have your colleague give it a tug from the back and give it some gentle 'taps' to ease it under the bar, then it should slide straight out.
Voila!
To replace, just reverse the above :)

That was my plan but unfortunately i'll be trying to do it on my own!!
Job for tommorrow if the rain holds off! Everting else is all trimmed, made etc, just this damn sunroof. Might fix the leak at the same time!
You can do it on your own, just a bit more fiddly.
Watch out with the sunroof though.....I found that the glue I used attached really well to the sunroof tray 'cloth', but that then seperated from the tray itself. So now I've had to tear that off and scrape off all of the padding that was under the 'cloth' to attach the material direct to the metal.

Sploded tyre now replaced, no time to do anything else so you will have to take the shed as it stands Im afraid.
And I am talking about the car. Not me.
Rhino tubs are packed in the boot ready to be filled with ice and alcohol.
Countdown is on ;)

hey Iam just sleeping around but gin ok may have a glass or two with you before I pass out
No pics from last night, but suffice to say I didn't get much done. Recovered the sunroof tray and one of the sunvisors, but still a fair bit to do. Hopefully cracking on with it tonight.

I've just been and bought some flexible vinyl paint for the visors as they were too tricky to trim.
Exactly the same colour as the dash so should look good when put back together.
That's a funky idea. I ended up doing the visor in adhesive black felt, should be interesting to see when it's all back together.

Guys !
Great work, youall wouldn't have it any other way other than leaving it until the last min.
Hope CPOP goes well and you all get the safe and well.
Well in my frantic efforts at re-trimming, I've managed (well I say I, the missus did some of the holding while I screwed :yikes: ) to get it all done. Slightly different to before, but needs must....

Keep ya eyes peeled bud
Not got too much to finish now, few little fiddly bits but once done will hopefully look good.
I'll be looking for some inspiration ;)
Had a good look at the interior light holder and reckon even that could be done on a CNC.

I noticed you can take out the 'white' part inside, so it's only really the plastic surround section that needs making. Might take a while to program though

Looked into the light surround a bit more today.
Gonna be a pain in the arrrrrssssseee to do! A lot of work to replicate the same design. I've modelled it up now but it'll take a fair bit of work to get one commpleted anytime soon!
