Ruddy sunroof!

aside from the mechanical issues i am having ressolved on tuesday i now have another issue. my sunroof leaks!!! the seal on the outside of the sunroof is beggared and lets water into my roof lining which doesnt impress the missus,lol ! The sunroof glass frame thingy :pirate:seems to have a bad rusty patch on the passengers side, is it worth reparing the existing parts ot can i buy a new seal/sunroof?

Unfortunately its a common fault on Rover 200's. I had this years ago, replaced the whole unit and its been fine ever since.

All I can say is unlucky and I am glad that I bought mine when I did, as otherwise i would be having your problems!

Only things with mine so far have been minor, battery died, one wheel needed re-setting on the alloy, and the tracking needs doing! Considering I have done over 1200 miles in 2 weeks and a day thats not bad! :D:D

Mine seems to be getting a bit lumpy round the rubber, no leaks and it isnt coming off at least. Can sunroof glass be bought new?

all is not lost, i went to my mates garage tonight, took the rubber out and chipped away all of the rust off the sunroof frame.hoovered it all out and cleaned the seal. stuck it back on with some black gunk that is supposed to be a1 for fixing leaks and put it back on nice and flat!!! now it wont rain so i can check the handy work!!!

for anyone who wants a new roof, horners in Manchester offered me one for £216 +vat.
