At the moment im running Dunlop SP9000's, has anyone fitted SP2000's if so are they any good? I want a decent set of tyres but nothing that will break the bank!! Going for SP9000s at the mo but open to suggestions!! where do people buy there tyres from? Ive seen them cheap on mytyres.co.uk but ive had problems with them in the past, plus my mate has matched there prices
I'd go with the 9000's. I've tried a few different types and they were the best to be honest.
As you say mytyres are probably the cheapest for them.

have had the sp9000, now have the sp sportmaxx
I must say that the sportmaxx is a better tyre then the sp9000 when it comes to grip, and after all that's the most importand thing to say about a tyre
he's also as good as the sp9000 in the wet, but I don't think it lives as long as the sp9000
so my opinion: sp sportmaxx (or continental sportcontacts2)

Goodyear eagle F1s are good, but wear rate is quite quick as they are soft compound.

dont pay extra..as i found out changed my front tyres on saturday from the much worn out goodyears to some cheap and cheerful economy branded ones...there so much better that the v patterend goodyears which were bloody awful....the cheap and cheersfulls make the car feel so much more stable and secure when corning and at speed...just proves u dnt always get what u pay for...

Sorry too late!! got the 9000's on friday, it cost me £154.98 fitted for 2 bargin!:happy2:! tbh I think tyres are one thing you need to spend a bit more on to get something decent, the ride is so much better now as the others were barely legal and were odd, which was a nightmare!!
Toyo T1-R's every time.
Just fitted Toyo R888's for fun, should be interesting.......

I've just had to settle for Toyo TR1's as no one can get hold of any Dunlop SP tyres around here, but the pattern looks the same on the Toyo's. £78.61 each.

Anyone know of any good place's to buy SP9000's online?
Mytyres.co.uk have seemed to stop stocking them!
Anyone tried the SP2000's yet?

Just had a look on the Dunlop website, they now dont list the SP9000 on their tyre selection guide for the BRM so it looks like the tyre has been discontinued

I am running Pirelli P Zero Neros. So far very impressed, they have good grip even in the wet weather.

I have a new set of BRM wheels in my loft atm really wanted to fit some dunlop sp9000s on the rims this summer :( dont look like it's gonna happen now :( whats a good tyre to fit instead dont wanna pay more than about £90 a tyre
I had Toyo T1's on my golf, similar weight to the BRM so I'm guessing they'll behave similarly. Bloody brilliant. Had Pirelli P7000s on the MINI which were similarly good (although I had just upgraded from runflats so may have been flattered?).
Got F1's on the front of the BRM but haven't pushed the car since I've had it so can't comment. Even with girly driving, they seem to wear quick though...

Both my front tyres are due for replacement, but the rear two are still ok. Can I replace just the front two tyres with Dunlop SP9000 and leave the rear two (economy tyres) as they are ?

I also fitted Toyo Proxes TR1's all round as SP9000's are discontinued. So far very impressed, and the tread pattern is almost the same as SP9000's. Michelin Pilot's are quite grippy as well, though the tread pattern is a bit boring to look at.

Emailed dunlop about the sp9000s to see if they are still making them, sad i know but this is what i got back
Thanks for your e-mail.
In certain sizes the Sport 9000 has been superceded by the Sport Maxx. This is the case in 205/45R16 83W.
For more information on the Sportmaxx please see http://www.dunloptyres.co.uk/ourTyres/car/searchResults/SPSportMaxx/

have the sportmaxx now and don't think I'll take them back. 15.000 km and that's it
I'll look for the sportcontacts 2, or the michelin pilot sport
I'm running the Yokohama S.Drive and it's for the moment the best tyres I ever run.... but I'm not really objective because I love Yokohama tyre :mbounce:
