Having just bought my car i dont no massive amounts about the brm, so what things are good to get uprated? i wana keep the car as stock as poss but interested if theres anythin to help the performance, obviously im not into the huge induction kits and massive exhausts and all that, i was thinkin bout gettin a stainless exhaust system tho, what ones are good for the brm? :bounce:

First mod i would suggest would be the 52mm alloy throttle body to replace the standard plastic 48mm one. You wont see a performance increase (if you do it'll be negligible) but it improves throttle response and prevents the sticking throttle problem that the plastic ones are prone to.

If your not into induction kits then a performance panel filter to replace the standard filter would be on the cards. I'm not too hot on these but there are a lot on the market to choose from.

Exhaust systems I have to say I'm a Janspeed man. I have the full Janspeed ZR160 system with a VI backbox fitted to mine. Thats a performance manifold, sports cat, inter pipe and twin 3" rolled in tip backbox. Got to say its probably the best money i've ever spent on the car.

Then your into the realms of upgrading the HT leads, lightened components (flywheels, crank, etc) or going the whole hog and blanking off the vvc and converting to direct to head throttle bodies with an aftermarket ECU, but thats mega-bucks.

Probably the best area to improve the performance of the BRM is in the handling. Although very good as standard I have to say that adjustable coilovers have simply transformed my car allowing much more speed to be carried through the corners. This can be aided by strut braces and replacing the bushes with poly ones to stiffen everything up that little bit more.

With upping the power you should also consider stopping, I found that the EBC grooved discs and greenstuff pads are incredibly good anchors for the BRM.

hth :D

Cost me £700 with no labour costs as they were doing a special deal when I had it done luckily :D

Thought you were going to say about £250!

I saved for quite a while for that, its expensive i know but well worth it for the performance gains you get from it!
