One thing I didnt like when I first got me BRM was the door mirrors, being metro sourced they are a tad small for the car and i couldnt get them at an angle to give decent vision, I looked into Mg mirrors and bought a pair of manual adjust ones off the ebay to see if they would fit,

It proved to be pretty straight forward, Luckily the Mg mirrors came with their own door gaskets so using these as a pattern an extra two mounting holes needed to be drilled, funnily enough when lined up there where indentations in the door frame in the same place, perhaps the bigger mirrors where planned on the 200 but the budget got in the way!
I can now see whats going on behind at last!
Next job is to source some electric ones and see if they plug straight in!

let us know how this goes, because my mirrors are pretty scratched, could do with a new pair!
Personally I dont like them, sorry. I much prefer the smaller 200 mirrors. Kudos for getting them sprayed the right colour though.

I used to have a rover 25, then switched to the BRM. I found that the 200 mirrors were not as bad as people had made out.

I wouldn't bother with the electric/heated ZR mirrors mate, got them on my ZR & once you have set them you never touch them again.

Yeah good point electric ones are way down the list,
being tall I couldnt get the little uns where i could see, I managed to find some original silver zr mirrors so painting wasnt needed and yes they did have scratches on em just like the old ones!
I tried this with a mate who was braking a R25, he was giving the mirrors away for free so i though why not.
After taking both the door cards off the brm i found the mirrors had totaly diffrent connectors, the R25 mirrors had 5 wires while brm had 6. I messed about a bit with a multimeter but gave up in the end.
Pitty cos i thing the round mirrors look good on the brm.

Nice mod. What is the silver colour? I have a set of starlight silver mirror covers off the ZR.

Starlight silver perhaps, thats what my old 25 was, very similar to sparkle silver.

Can we have a straight on view pic or a comparison as old/new?
Personally i think the R25/MG mirrors make it look like it has elephant ears!:mbounce:
