Recently I've noticed that when my BRMs warmed up, it sometimes judders at high revs, like its looses power temporarily and then jerks forward again.

The cars in for a service this week anyway, so they should tell me if there are any problems (especially given the extortionate price they're charging me!). However, I just wondered whether anyone else has experienced this kind of behaviour with their BRM ?

Interesting one that. Personally i'd start with the small things, like checking spark plugs/ht leads, etc. Let us know what the garage find though!

Had the service done (owch) and they didn't find anything wrong, apart from one of the plugs which had come off !

I took her out for a good ride afterwards (the car, not the receptionist !) and after about twenty minutes I was pulling away from the lights and it seems like the throttle just stuck. I was in second gear and I floored the accelerator and there was just no response for a couple of seconds.

I'm sure somebody mentioned something like this before on this site. Something to do with a plastic throttle something or other ?

If you've got the plastic throttle body (48mm) then it is prone to sticking when it heat sup unfortunately. The usual thing to do is replace it with an alloy one, either 48mm again or upgrade to the 52mm. Could be your problem....

Yeah thanks Adam, that was what I meant.

Could I just ask at a normal garage for them to get a 52mm alloy throttle body and fit it ? Do you think it would it be complicated to do ?

Its easy to do mate if you can get one yourself. 4 bolts and a couple of pipes. I got mine from Mike Satur (www.mikesatur.com).

If you fancy giving it a go yourself then let me know and i'll give you a guide on how to do it :D

I had a problem once with total lack of power, couldnt even keep up with my bro's 105 ZR, worked out it was the Catalitic Converter!!

Thanks guys, from the look of Mark's instructions, it looks easy enough. I'll give that a go if this sticking throttle really becomes a problem.
