I'm looking for a BRM to use for hillclimbing (of the tarmac sort).

So looking for one that is mainly mechanically sound but bodywork and interior trim not as important, but must still be presentable!

Repaired Cat C/D considered.

Let me know details of what you have and what you will take etc.

Didn't you say you wanted it to go to a good home?

Surely a hill climber is gonna be stripped out to it's bare necessary components?

Why chose a BRM to do this?

Ah, okay soz I diddnt read properly.

I'd wanted to be kept intact so might not be the right BRM for this job.

But still the question remains:

Why chose a BRM to do this?

I hillclimb & sprint my MGF in the MG Car Club Speed Championship.
It's in almost standard condition, road going class. :)

Sorry should have stated it would be in standard class so no mods or stripping out, only mod would possibly be a harness belt!

BRM as
a) I want to keep to MG/Rover
b) It's different.
c) Torsen diff as std.
d) I like them

Not looking at trashing whatever I get but want something that isn't my every day drive, so if I do anything silly I can take it off the road to repair at my leisure. Probably do no more damage than anyone who track days their BRM.

Okay as long as you promise not to get the mats muddy.

I'd have thought the k-series engine wouldn't be ideal for the strain of hillclimbing with it's delicate nature around the HG area?

What I was wandering is would you need a more torquey (great spelling huh),rather then a revvy one,but I know nothing about hill climbing or in fact anything at all

I think the BRM is good up the hills because it's light - but I wouldn't want to be hammering like that all the time.

The venue I'll be at most of the season is Harewood Hill, it's only about a mile long and there is only one real incline on the track. My wife's TF has done ok up the hill but she doesn't really want me using that!

Also going to MG Live and will be doing the sprint there using Stowe Circuit.

Have no probs with using K series, used to rally a 1600 Rover 200 with no probs.

Oh and I'll wear slippers when I get in the car;-).
