Apparently the BRM was originally to be available with a 180bhp engine. Could that have been a tuned VVC 1.8 or would it have been a T-Series 2.0 engine?

Where did you hear that? Very interesting.

If it was a tuned vvc it would've neede a lot of fettling to get that sort of power.

T16 turbo is 197bhp standard, exactly what they should have done in the first place if you ask me lol

T16 Turbo was actually 180bhp standard, as in the 1992 Rover 820 Vitesse. The 200bhp version was first launched in the Tomcat. We discussed this at the meet today and we reckoned thast the cast iron T-Series probablyt compromised the handling balance of the car too much which is why they stuck with the K-Series, which can be tuned to 180bhp.
