Hi folks,

I'm registered here for some time now but used to be a reading member.
Last Friday I got my own BRM which I imported from the Nederlands to Germany. FINALLY!!!
It is a nearly total genuine specimen driven by a 60 year old lady. It is always been taken care of with a long and detailed service history.

The only two downdsides are:
- rust at all wheelarches, but no problem
- an aftermarket sports exhaust.

So I'm on the look out for a genuine backbox. I already wrote rimmerbros if they got sth. in stock, but they don't. They could only order one for the Vi. The Vi seems to have a different backbox than the BRM - without chrome finisher. It would be great if someone could tell me if the BRM box is the same as the Vi one just with a screwable chrome finisher? Or, maybe someone has a detailed pic of a genuine BRM backbox, that would help too.

About me, my name is Julian, obviously I live in Germany. I'm driving a Rover since 2004 and am owning 5 200RF at the moment. A genuine 214Si Silverstone, a 214i in bad shape(which has to go), the BRM, a project car (18K4K with Piper Cams, Emerald, etc.) and a spare bodyshell.

Cheers

Hi Julian,I think you must have the only BRM in Germany, unless you know different,I think the best place to try if Rimmers are out of stock would be x part europe, getting an original with Chrome finish may be hard now though

Only just second, there's a guy in Paderborn who has imported also a NL one. I'm trying to reach him for some time to get the VIN for this sites database, but no luck so far...

Good point in trying to ask xparts directly! Thx.

I have a chrome finisher on the backbox I removed, if it will clean up and I can de weld it it's yours for postage :) then you can order the Vi box and add the finisher if this helps?

If it is a genuine BRM one then it's a deal. Steer me a pm if everything worked out the way you planned.

Adam already found my car in the list and it is No. 601 in total and No. 45 in NL. She has been build on 21/4/1999.

Here's a picture of the car just before I bought it.

Got round to looking at the chrome finisher today. This looks like it has been on the car since new, I don't think it would be worth the hassle taking it off if I'm honest. :(

Thank you for effort m8!

It would be very nice if you could post a detailed shot of the chrome finisher, so that I know what I have to look for.
