It occured to me tonight that on September 15th 2008 it will be the 10 years since the launch of the 200 BRM. Shouldn't we organise something special?:hooray:

How about a gathering of every BRM still on the road? That should fill the Gaydon car park!

Would certainly be nice to try and sort that. I've got some interesting ideas about coverage of the event too ;)

Could be quite an event.

Tracking down all the cars might be an issue!

I know people in the motoring press so I can get this publicised quite easily. And I have access to Newspress so I can send a press release that will go to all the motoring journals.

What do people think of Gaydon for this event, that's where the press shots were all taken and I think is quite a fitting venue?

I think Gaydon would be an excellent venue, or possibly Donnington Motor Museum. I think they have some BRMs there.

Does anyone own an original BRM race car outside of a museum? I know they come out once in a while as there are some on YouTube.

They weren't made in Belgium

Anyways it would be great to see you Frekkel if you could make it, let any other Belgian owners you know about the event!

I'm looking at the weekend just before of the 13/14th September at the moment.

Donnington sounds good, only 45mins away from me!

Donnington has a good selection of BRM's, and I know Beaulieu has one.

Little bit of an update for you all...

Unfortunately Goodwood is a no go, I tried my best but there is just no way we fit their criteria for either the Festival of Speed or the Revival.

However all hope is not lost as I have some other events in the pipeline, just awaiting feedback. If all goes well it should be a good event :D

What's that? We're not multi-millionaires!?

How about a meeting in Bourne, Lincolnshire, home of the BRM and ERA. Actually, will it also be the 20th anniversary of the Mini ERA Turbo?

can't we all just get drunk?

The DVLA does have details of how many are left on the road... Give them a few thousand quid and they'll tell you exactly how many.

why just not on the old site of the roverfactory??

Because there isn't much to see anymore :-(

Actually, it will cost £3405 to get details of Rover cars still registered in use, but this will also give you access to all makes 'in use' info for one year. The report looks like this: http://smmtlib.findlay.co.uk/articles/sharedfolder/MarketDataAvailability/ACF39.pdf
