I have managed to snap a pin off when cleaning out my washer jets as they had ceased to work.

All going well till I snapped the pin, so my question is, do other Rover 200's have heated washer jets, if not can I transfer the heater part over.

Alternatively if you have any ideas about how to get it out that would be good.

I think the BRM ones are heated. Theres certainly extra wires going into mine so I assume that they are.

Only the top models had heated jets. It is highly unlikely you will be able to swap the heated part it will be all one. You will get one from your local rover parts dealer or a scrapyard. They are the same on new 200 25 zr and even new 400 45 zs just check it has the heater wires.

Is the rear washer jet definitley blocked? It is more often either the pipe broken in the rubber grommet where it comes into the tailgate or the connector comes of the back of the wiper motor.
If the pipe is broken you can get an inline connector to join or use a piece of brake pipe

Water pumps out of the pipe where it joins the jet, but when I connect it nothing happens !!

You can try a pin but better than that is compressed air, disconnect the pipe you mentioned then try blowing back down the jet and out of the hole where the pipe connects, if you hold some paper etc over the hole you will see if any muck comes out. If that don't work you may need a new jet.

Have fun

OK been to various scrapyards but haven't been able to find any heated ones, the earlier jets are a totally different style. It looks though that the later type are the same style and have the hole to fit the heated element.

Had a look at swapping this but the wires seem to be bonded to something that then goes in the hole. I assume this would be a peice of metal, what a pain!

John

Try giving Badford Auto Spares a call , if they dont have one I would very suprised having been there and I'm sure they do mail order.

One of the members also works there as well, as his BRM was parked outside when I last visted, complete with club sticker.
