Here we go for 2008 guys!

Decided on something a bit different for this meet, rather than go to a museum it'll be a nice run through some of the most beautiful landscape I've ever been to.

We'll set off from Birmingham, probably at the NEC for the start of a day of photo-shoots and driving.

The final destination will be at the Horse Shoe Pass in Wales!

Its a cracking chance to drive some amazing roads and go somewhere you wouldn't usually.

The date I'm thinking of is Saturday 23rd February so you've got a month to prepare yourself :D

I'll post up details of the route and times later, but suffice to say it'll take most of the day.

ROUTE

M42 - 2.6 miles
M6 toll - 19.3 miles
A460 - 5.5 miles
M54 - 15 miles
A5 - 41.3 miles
A539 - 5.3 miles
A542 - 5.5 miles

MEETING POINT CARPARK S3 BY THE LORRY PARKING

12:00!!!

So any takers...

Gutted mate my car is stored ten minutes drive from the Horseshoe pass but I can't come because it's not road legal :evilmad: :evilmad: Wouldn't be the same coming in my road car i'd be the odd one out.

Come along mate! Doesn't matter if your not in a BRM, you'll still be welcome. In fact being so close its obligatory that you do come :D

Sounds good to me then mate. I'll see if I have a game of footy that day if not i'll be there.

Are you staying over by the horseshoe pass or driving back the same day?

Adam

Undecided yet. Got a mate in North Wales, but may just drive back down South afterwards (I'm a glutton for punishment).

Just remember, the pass may be closed that day !!! You wanna get a good look at the weather as early as you can... It's a long way for you to go to find it closed..

As a backup route, I would highly recommend the A5.. It's one heluva road for bends, straights and beautiful scenery... Goes from the end of the A55 right back into wrexham / Oswestry.. Loads of good food pubs too..

Sounds like a good idea!

But the weather, the forecasters can't tell you the weather for tomorrow, never mind a month away :P

Sounds like it will be a good meet

If someone fancys a passenger ... i'll come along :)

I'm very tempted to come, but not in the Brrrmm, in the DIESEL instead.. Yes, that's right.. DIESEL.. All 145BHP of it...

I used to be a member of the NMGO many years ago when I had a Diesel ZR+ and on the runs through the Yorkshire dales on those twisty lanes even the MG TF's were embarrased a few times by it... Get em in 3rd on those lanes and there's no stopping em.. literaly.. the brakes are crap.. lol..

Might be in for it mate.. being ten mins from the NEC however i have to get the ZR 160 suspension collected and fitted.

But would be a good test for the new tyres and the suspension.

Stick the route up and give us all more info.

I may bring a 'tog or a partner as well!!:clap2:

Ok here's the route that I'm planning on taking, if anyone has another idea i'm open to hearing them but this one gives a nice mix of roads.....

M42 - 2.6 miles
M6 toll - 19.3 miles
A460 - 5.5 miles
M54 - 15 miles
A5 - 41.3 miles
A539 - 5.3 miles
A542 - 5.5 miles

Will arrange some stopping points on the way so it wont be all gogogo! Probably take 3 hours, that's allowing plenty of time in case of traffic.

Looks like a good route, also just off the route you are taking is the Evo triangle, details here:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=304051

Anyone who has seen this months Evo with the STI vs the Gallardo will know what great roads are there.

I won't be able to make this one really, way to far to go :-(.
