Wing Mirror - Assembly

Do the two sides of the wing mirror cover just clip together? Is it easy? My drivers side seems to have magically undone itself, whilst I was putting the car in the garage. Can't think why... :joker:

Yeah, IIRC the silver bit just clips onto the black part.

and how does the black part attached to the car? If you imagine that the silver and black covers are sat on my sunroof and there's just a naked, yet undamaged mirror...

Don't know if that gives you any clues, but from what I remember The casing itself isn't actually attached to the car. There is a metal bracket inside that is screwed into the silver bit (i think, was a while ago) and the mirror itself is held onto the car via the very big spring looping round a small vertical bar in the metal casing inside the mirror.

Further inspection... I've broken that! Ho hum, off on the hunt for a drivers side mirror!

nooo... it's a bit broken! bits seems to be snapped off, and the mirrors cracked as well.

Ah bugger, 7 years then!
