Unusually, the pipes through the exhaust centre and back box have blown at the same time. At our last meeting at Beaulieu Phil mentioned to me he had a bespoke Maniflow stainless steel exhaust made and I could buy it from him when I needed it. That time is now!
He also had the centre section as well so I had both of those from him for a very reasonable sum, in fact only a little more than the cost of a standard exhaust from my local fit-it-yourself supplier.
I got underneath and had a go at undoing the nuts at the catalyst and yup, you've guessed it, they've rusted solid, and any attempt at putting a socket on them just rounds the corners off. So, it looks like I'll have to get the old faithful angle grinder on them.
Still, no one said it would be easy, but I find solace in the money I'm saving by not going to Kwik Fit. I didn't even bother getting a quote from them as we all know they're just a rip off. Only fleet users are mad enough to use Kwik Fit and pay their prices.
Kev.
