It really saddens me to see all these BRM's being broken. I mean most are perfectly serviceable, that one that was on Ebay a little while back had nothing wrong with it at all :chair:

People seem to have this mistaken belief that you can break them and sell the parts for more than the car is worth, which to be honest is rubbish. There is no way you can sell the parts for 'top dollar' as no one is willing to pay the prices. I've been trying to sell a full set of seats for £200 (much less than they're worth IMO) but no-one wants them at all.

Rant over

It is a shame to see them getting broken, but there is a plus side, it rises the value of the working ones, and there are at least some spares available.

I suppose you could say that, just such a shame seeing such a limited run of cars reduced even further.

Suppose people could call me a hypocrite for turning one into a track car, but that one was destined for scrap so I consider it giving it a new lease of life. Just annoying when the cars are perfectly fine, people just can't be bothered to sell them :(

don't look at me, the one I'm breaking is completely to far to be saved, the chassis is like a banana. I only try to save the engine, interior and some other bits and pieces. so with my engine and gearbox I can save another brm with a dammaged engine.

i would feel guilty about my spare one but due to its pervious owners not being as enthusiastic about there cars i'm left with little choice it does not warrent me spanding its value on it to recover it, and its parts will go towards funding my one staying around longer.

Thing is, it's inevitable that some will have to be broken to save the ones that are still on the road! Imagine what it's like having to break old classics in order to save some of the few that are still running.

thing is: if I broke my gearbox, can I still buy a new one? If my leather seat is dammaged, can I buy a new one? I once tried to order a new steering wheel, but the only thing I could buy was one from a tf with red leather so...
