Don't write off those horrible blackened steering wheels. It's not terminal after all. Get Maguiars Gold Class leather cleaner and apply elbow grease.

I'm sorry that, being an old fart, I can't do pictures and uploading etc so you'll have to take my word for it.

I had tried Gliptone and the Autoglym version to no avail and I honestly thought the only answer was the TF route.

What a result and, for me, what a saving!

Good advice there!

I'll have to try that on the couple of spares i've got lying around before I sell them.

Adam, did this work on your spare wheels? I have tried Autoglym cleaner and conditoner but I find it seems to actually remove the red dye from the wheel!

i had the same problem..it just takes the red dye off the wheel!!

It's the same with the handbrake lever and the door handles. Never had this problem with the seats or the door card / dash leather.

I used a special leather product in the end. Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it came with cleaner, conditioner and dye just in case restoration work is needed on the leather.
