The dash clock has started to go on my car, losing digits on the display every once in a while. I have managed to get a spare from the scrapyard (not sure if it works or will be any better).
How easy are these to change and is there a good way to do this without damaging anything. I have heard taking out the centre vents can make this easier.
Easy peasy, no need to remove the vents.
Get a flat screwdriver, cover it in a cloth of protection or just be careful, slide it under the plastic clock surround and pop it out. 2 screws hold the clock in, remove it and unplug. Just reverse to replace.

Clock cost pennies from scrappy, I have got two spare, one of the new syle that doesn't fit the 200 (from a 25/ZR) and larger screened one that comes standard with the BRM.
Not sure if it works though so will be annoyed if I remove the existing one and then the replacement is dead as well.
Only just started going recently, has been fine for the past year I have had the car.

Well replaced this with the spare I had and that didn't even work at all, so put the old one back in. Can these be bought new as I am reluctant to mess around with second hand ones.

You can get these of ebay the early freelander clock is the same as well.

Still not new though and could stop working at any time, as mine can and does work fine for a while so I'm not convinced the ones on ebay will be reliable.

Mine is no good also, has not worked since I got the car!
Seen loads on ebay, but what are the fittings or replacements?????
Some say 4 pin, some say 8 pin, some say Freelander, 25 and all etc.
Which one will be a direct replacement?
Looking at this, but something tells me it's not the correct one!!!!!!

Bought second hand one sometime ago from breakers, removed mine as
segments just started to go.
Removed failing one at breakers and poped replacement in and good once more.
The old one I took to a car radio decoder guy,he re-programmed it and hey presto, all segments came back to life.
NEVER touch the screen as it causes damage.
